Privacy

The short version

5Q collects the information needed to run a social media platform for asking questions and sharing short video responses. We do not sell personal information, run targeted advertising, or upload your contacts.

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, handle, display name, and optional profile picture and bio.
• Content and activity: questions, video answers, follows, reactions, comments, shares, and related timestamps.
• Device information: push-notification tokens and limited technical information required to keep uploads, playback, authentication, and notifications working.
• Contact matching: only after you grant Contacts access, 5Q normalizes and hashes permitted contact names on your device. The server converts those hashes into protected lookup tokens and returns possible matches. Raw contact names and address books are never stored or shared by 5Q.

How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts, publish and deliver content, connect people, send requested notifications, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and comply with legal obligations.

What other people can see

Profiles, follower relationships, published videos, comments, and engagement counts are visible to authenticated 5Q users. Pending questions remain visible only to the asker and recipient until they are answered or removed.

Service providers

5Q uses Amazon Web Services to authenticate users, store app data and media, deliver email and push notifications, and serve content. These providers process information only to provide the service or meet legal requirements.

Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to operate, secure, and meet legal obligations for the service. To request account or data deletion, contact support@5q.io from the email address associated with your account.

Children

5Q is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

Changes and questions

We may update this notice as 5Q changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Questions can be sent to support@5q.io.
